Bothers - Today, students practiced solving equations. We took notes in the MSG, and then we practiced the skill. We will finish today's classwork tomorrow in class. HW: IXL Z.2, Z.4, Z.6, and Z.New are due Friday! Katz - Today we finished up the quizzes from yesterday and then took notes on writing equations to solve word problems. HW: IXL Z.8 Leach - Students practiced solving equations in the computer lab. HW: Continue to complete the IXL standards sheet you started in the computer lab today! Quiz over equations FRIDAY Ledesma - Students practiced solving problems using the order of operations. They also practiced determining whether a given pair of (x,y) values would be a solution to an equation. HW: Finish the classwork Shaw: Today we worked on solving one step equations-students were provided with one and one support, and a scaffolding format to help them improve on the procedural steps and checking their work for accuracy.(MSG 9a). Students assignments were also individually marked-students need to spend quality time on practice worksheets. Assignment: MSG-Period 1-9b and 10b, and Period 3 -9b and 12a. Quiz is on Friday. All grades for HW, classwork, and IXL will be collected on Friday- students were guided on presentation, completeness and accuracy of work-all work must be shown. Leach - It was great to see everyone today! I'm eager to have a great second half of the year! Today, students learned to use inverse operations to solve one-step equations. We took guided notes in the MSG and practiced solving equations. HW: MSG p. 9b and 10a - Show ALL work/steps! Shaw: Encouraged students to pursue their work with vigor, and escalate the good performance they have shown on the Math Inventory Test. Today we reviewed the steps to solving one step equations: Addition and Subtraction, and Multiplication and Division-provided students with modeled examples and discussed key vocabulary concepts associated with this lesson. Student have a classwork and a home work assignment for practice/and completion. Tomorrow , we will mark assignments, and review inequalities.(Students are to continue revising notes and worked exercises in MSG). We will complete a Touchstone on one step equations and inequalities. HW: Unit 3 Test Corrections due by WEDNESDAY; Inequalities worksheet Ledesma: Students completed a "Clue" activity to review Units 1 - 3. HW: None Shaw : Today we continued on Direct Variation-working out of the MSG pages 22b and 24a-Students have a HW sheet to complete to reinforce concepts.
Introduced Lesson Two -Inequalities-Notes provided to students-MSG pages 15a, 15b,16a and 16 b,17a and 17b and modeled examples worked on smartboard for students-we will continue working on inequalities tomorrow completing the above pages in the MSG; and practice on Wednesday-independent work. A Touchstones test will be done tomorrow on Unit 4 IXL skills assigned for the week: AA1, AA2 and AA3.
