You've made it through the first semester of middle school... congrats! We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and restful break! There is no homework over the holidays, BUT we will offer REP points to students who complete the following Quizizz reviews, and score at least 75%. You may take them as many times as you need. Enjoy your break! We'll see you next year! :) Unit 1: Unit 2: Unit 3: Unit 4:

Today we worked on practicing equation solving and direct variation. Students had an assignment to complete in class. Homework: Bothers: No HW Katz: Finish classwork if not already finished Leach: IXL X2 and X4 (Coordinate graphing) Ledesma: Complete and turn in ALL IXL
Bothers, Leach, and Ledesma - Students learned about direct variation, and how to represent these problems using equations, tables, and graphs. They also tied this in to ratio tables and unit rates from Unit 2. Katz - After grading the Unit 4 Mid-Unit tests from last Friday, it appears that there are still quite a few students who need some additional support to master the material. So, today in class, those students who scored below 80 were given the opportunity to redo problems and ask questions as needed. There is no homework unless all test corrections weren't completed in class. Homework: Bothers: Finish Classwork; IXL due Thursday Katz: Finish test corrections Leach: Equations practice sheet #1-12; IXL continues Ledesma: MSG p. 80, 81, 82 (direct variation); past due IXL due ASAP
Today, students learned about direct variation. This can be represented using tables, graphs, and equations. This standard also ties closely to the ratio tables and unit rates that students learned about in Unit 2! Mrs. Bothers's classes finished their tests from Friday, and they went to the computer lab to finish the MI. They will begin direct variation tomorrow! Homework: Bothers: IXL due Thursday Katz: MSG pgs. 20b & 21a Leach: Equations Test corrections due TOMORROW; IXL continues Ledesma: Finish both sides of direct variation (FedEx) WS; All past due IXL due Fri
Students took the Unit 4 Mid-Unit Test on writing and solving equations! Some students will need to finish on Monday, so stay tuned next week for shout-outs to those who earned A's!
We reviewed for tomorrow's test on writing and solving equations. Mrs. Leach's classes took the Math Inventory. All students will take a test tomorrow on equations! Homework: Bothers: Equations Review WS; Study for test; IXL due Thursday Katz: Unit 4 MId Unit Study Guide #15-27; Study for test Leach: Study for test tomorrow; IXL is ongoing Ledesma: Equations Study Guide (MSG p. 64 all and 65a); Study for test; IXL
Students continued learning to write equations from word problems. This Friday, students will take the Unit 4 Mid-Unit Test on equations! Katz's students were in the computer lab taking the MI (Math Inventory). This Friday, students will take the Unit 4 Mid-Unit Test on equations! Homework: Bothers: Equations WS; IXL due Thursday, 12/20 Katz: Unit 4 Mid-Unit Study Guide #1-14 Leach: Review WS due tomorrow; Bring headphones for MI tomorrow Ledesma: "Face-ing Math" Equations activity; Work on IXL
Today, students continued to practice translating word problems into equations and then solving. Mrs. Bothers's classes took the MI in the computer lab, and Mrs. Katz's classes will take the MI tomorrow. Homework: Bothers: Equations WS; IXL due Monday Katz: Equations Word Problem Sheet #1 Leach: Ledesma: Equation Review Wkst Shaw:Equations from word problems -worksheet-to complete
Today, we began writing and solving equations when given a word problem. Ledesma's classes took the MI in the computer lab. Homework: Bothers: Equations WS due Wednesday; IXL due Monday Katz: MSG pgs. 13a & 13b Leach: Quiz corrections due Friday; IXL ongoing practice sheet (blue) Ledesma: Work on IXL Shaw:Practice on IXL(think about writing equations from word problems).
