Last week was a fun surprise! Now that we've all had the chance to play and relax, we need to hit the ground running in Unit 5! In this unit, students will learn to find the area of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and composite figures! They will also learn to find surface area and volume of 3D shapes!
Today, Bothers' kids went to the computer lab to work on Mini-Touchstones and MobyMax. Ledesma's kids set up Unit 5 in the MSG. Katz's kids and Leach's kids began learning to find the area of different polygons.

We appreciate your support!! :)
Students demonstrated mastery of Unit 4 standards on the Unit 4 post-test today. They were tested on writing and solving equations, writing and graphing inequalities, and solving problems using direct variation!
Homework for ALL classes: Bring your 2nd MSG if you haven't already!
Additional Homework for Bothers & Ledesma: MobyMax lessons due Tues!
Congrats to these students who earned an A on the Unit 4 Test!!

Today was our final day to review for the Unit 4 Test tomorrow! Students will be tested on the following standards / skills:
Today, students took the Unit 4 post-test (the same as the pre-test) to assess growth from the beginning of the unit, as well as readiness for Friday's test. Then, they practiced solving problems using equations, direct variation, and inequalities. Remember, your UNIT 4 TEST IS FRIDAY!!
Today, students practiced writing and graphing inequalities. We will test Unit 4 this Friday, so study!
Bothers: MSG p. 146-147; MobyMax due Tues. 1/16
Katz: Inequalities WS
Leach: Inequalities WS; Bring MSG #2 if you haven't already
Ledesma: Inequalities WS
Today, students learned to write inequalities and graph them on a number line! They worked through the problems in the MSG (pages 143-144). We will continue to practice inequalities next week, and we will test Unit 4 next Friday!
Bothers: Bring 2nd MSG (100-pg composition book)
Katz: Bring 2nd MSG (100-pg spiral)
Leach: Bring 2nd MSG (100-pg composition book)
Ledesma: MSG page 144; Bring 2nd MSG (100-pg composition book)
Welcome back - it was great to see everyone today! Can you believe we've already finished the first half of the year?? These next few months will fly by.
In class, students engaged in the "Want Ads" task to review direct variation. We also reviewed solving equations by applying inverse operations on both sides of the equation. Tomorrow, we will begin inequalities, the last standard of Unit 4. Next Friday, we will have our Unit 4 Post-Test on equations, inequalities, and direct variation!
