Today, students showed off their understanding of exponents and order of operations on a quiz! Stay tuned for shout-outs to those who made an A!
Today, some classes set up Unit 4 in the MSG, and other classes worked on solving problems using the order of operations. Tomorrow, all classes will take a short quiz on exponents and order of operations, so STUDY! Homework: Bothers: Finish Unit 3 Circle Map on MSG page 95 and Vocab on pages 92-93 Online Math Dictionary for Kids Leach: MSG page 103; Test corrections due Monday Ledesma: MSG page 103; IXL standard EE1 (pick any 3 out of the 5, due Monday) Schwak/Shaw: MSG pages 101 & 103 OOO Royal Rescue Game Today, students began with a Unit 3 Pre-test, to assess prior knowledge of expressions. Then, they learned to evaluate and write expressions with exponents! We watched a video (see below) and worked through several practice problems. Also, we are so happy to welcome back Mrs. Schwak from maternity leave! :)

Today, students continued to review all of the standards they have learned in Unit 2. Those standards include the following:
MGSE6.RP1: Ratios MGSE6.RP2: Unit rates MGSE6.RP3a: Ratio tables MGSE6.RP3b: Unit rate problems and proportions MGSE6.RP3c: Percents MGSE6.RP3d: Converting units of measurement Students will take the test on these standards tomorrow and Friday, so STUDY! :) Homework: ALL CLASSES: Make a "cheat sheet" for the Unit 2 Test. On a piece of paper, write down ANY notes that you would like to use on your test tomorrow. You may include example problems, vocabulary, the percent proportion, Metric "staircase," etc. This homework IS optional, but it is a good way to study, and you'll get to use a CHEAT SHEET on your TEST!! :) Bothers: IXL standards R4, R6, and R8 due Monday Leach: Study Unit 2 review sheets, study guide, etc. Quiz corrections due Friday Ledesma: Study! Basile/Shaw/Schwak: Study! Today, students continued to review for the Unit 2 Test on Ratios & Proportions. We will take the test this Thursday and Friday, so STUDY! :) Today, students worked on the Unit 2 Pre/Post Test. This 10-problem assessment was given as a pre-test at the start of the unit, and was given at the end of the unit to assess growth. Their results will also be used to help us help them as we review this week! Homework: ALL CLASSES: Study for Unit 2 Test Thursday/Friday!
