Today, all classes continued to practice finding the GCF (Greatest Common Factor) and LCM (Least Common Multiple) of a set of numbers. We will quiz this standard tomorrow (Mrs. Ledesma's classes will quiz on Monday)! Homework: Bothers: 1st Period - MSG p. 11; 3rd Period - No HW Katz: Finish the WS from Monday/Tuesday Leach: Study multiplication facts - next timed test is Monday. Arcade-style games for multiplication can be found on www.mathplayground.com Ledesma: MSG pg. 10 GCF problems only. Use List or Sled method . Shaw:Students began a WS in class on keys areas to be tested tomorrow(Divisibility Rules, Factors ,Multiples, GCF and LCM).Students have been assigned problems for completion/to reinforce understanding/ application.(Students have updated Binders/MSG Folders with information to review).
Bothers - Today, students learned to find the LCM (Least Common Multiple) of a pair of numbers. We filled in the guided notes in the MSG, and students practiced the skill on the boards. We will have a quiz on Friday! HW: MSG p. 10 (Left) LCM problems only (GCF should have been done last night)
Katz - Today we had a lesson with the school counselor and then we learned about how to find an LCM (Least Common Multiple). There will be a quiz on Friday. HW: MSG pg. 10 (Left) #1-8 - Answer Key (ODDS only) included so that students can check their work.
Leach - Students practiced finding the GCF and LCM of a pair of numbers. HW: Quiz over factors, multiples, LCM and GCF tomorrow! Study! Work on multiplication facts! Ledesma - Today, students reviewed finding factors and multiples.
HW: MSG p. 7 Shaw:Students participated in finding GCF and LCM-problems were modeled (examples posted on white boards)-warm up problems were marked and worked on smart board,supervised practice done in class-page 10 of their MSG. WS was given for homework. Reteaching will be done to ensure a through understanding of GCF and LCM tomorrow.Word problems will also be introduced. Students are to continue working on developing fluency of the 'Times Table'. NB-Quiz on Friday on all concepts discussed and practiced in class. Today, all 6th graders took the MI (Math Inventory). We will take it again in the middle and end of the year to show growth. Bothers - Today, students reviewed factors and multiples. We took notes in the MSG and practiced, and we also played a game to review. (Those students who knew the divisibility rules or used their resources were especially successful!)
There is no homework. Katz - Today, we worked on using the divisibility rules to quickly determine if one number is a factor of another number. Homework: Please make sure all paperwork is turned in by Monday. I am looking for the orange Student Information Form and a signed Syllabus. Have a great weekend! Ledesma - Today, we set up our MSGs and took a Mad Minute. Homework is the Unit 1 Vocabulary on MSG page 3. Bothers, Katz, and Leach: Today, we took the Unit 1 Pre-Test to determine what we know before we learn. Then we talked about divisibility rules and how to use them to find factors! Ledesma: Today, we completed Mad Minutes to assess knowledge of multiplication facts. Then, we took a procedures quiz.
