We have already learned all of the 6th-grade math standards, so we will be previewing some of the key standards from the first 2 units of 7th grade! Over these last 5 weeks, students will learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers, as well as how to solve two-step equations! All of these are extremely important skills, and it always benefits our 6th graders to get a head start! Today, students learned to add integers! They began using models (+ and - counters and/or a number line) and moved on to discovering the algorithm. We will continue exploring these methods all week. :) Homework: Bothers: Choose either side of the "Adding Integers" WS (stapled to today's classwork) Katz: Addition of Integers HW Sheet #1; All HW is due Friday Leach: Adding Integers Practice WS Ledesma/Gardiner: Adding Integers Day #1 WS
