Today we took a quiz on equations, inequalities and direct variation. Next week we will review and take a test on Unit 4. We will also be taking the MI (Math Inventory) on Thursday and Friday in the computer lab. I am hoping all students are in attendance on those days so we can avoid make-up sessions.)
Looking ahead: Next week - Review and MI The following two weeks we will be completing an in class project and taking a midterm exam over the material from the first 4 units this year. Students should start to review for this test using their MSG's and any other work they have. Have a great weekend! Today we learned about direct variation. We discussed how one variable is "dependent" on another and looked at ways to graph the relationships. HW: MSG pgs. 22a, 22b and 23a
Today we continued to learn about inequalities (how to write, solve, graph and check solutions). We will have a short quiz on Friday. HW: Inequalities Practice Sheet (Both Sides)
Today we were in the computer lab working on Touchstones and IXL.
Homework: IXL Skills AA.1, AA.2, AA.3, AA.4 and AA.5 due by the end of next week. Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! Today we learned about inequalities, what they are, how to graph them and how to solve them. Tomorrow we will be in the computer lab. HW: MSG pgs. 17b, 18a & 18b
Today students completed a review activity around the room to study for tomorrow's test on one-step equations.
HW: Review the study guide you completed yesterday in the MSG on pages 4a, 4b and 5a. Review all other homework and practice problems from the MSG. Today we worked some more on solving equations and writing equations to represent word problems.
HW: MSG pgs. 4a, 4b, 4c Today we worked on solving word problems using one-step equations. Students had to figure out "what they know" and "what they want to know" and put it the information into an equation that could be solved to find the solution. Unit 4 Mid-Unit Test on Friday. Homework: Problem Solving Practice Sheet
Today we were in the computer lab working on new skills and refining prior skills. The students will have a mid-unit test on Friday on solving one-step equations.
HW: IXL Z.6, Z.8 and Z.10 due on Friday. Today we learned how to solve equations using inverse operations, show our work and check our solutions. Students are required to show all steps to solving an equation including checking to see if the answer makes sense. HW: Solving Equations Practice Sheet
