Bothers - Today, students began to find the volume of rectangular prisms. Students used centimeter cubes to explore the differences between surface area and volume (this is important!). HW: Surface Area vs. Volume Practice WS; IXL K.10, K.13, AND FF.14 are due Friday!
Katz - I hope you all had a great week off! I know I needed the rest and I am ready to rock out the next 6 weeks until Spring Break. Here is a look at the week ahead:
Leach - Today, students practiced area and volume standards on IXL. HW: Continue to work on IXL standards from sheet in lab today; Unit 5 Test is Friday! Ledesma - Students worked in the lab on the Priority Standards Assessment. HW: New IXL (Dark Pink). Old White IXL due Today!
Shaw: Today, we summarized unit 5-areas, composite areas, surface areas, key vocabulary words and introduced the final lesson of the unit-Volume-MSG 19a and 19b, 20a and 20b-notes and examples provided. We also looked at two videos on finding the volume of rectangular prisms-sharing previous knowledge-Using the formula, substitute and solve using the correct unit-Cubic Units.
We will continue practicing on finding volume- applying the procedural steps. Students have an IXL homework assignment- striving for 80%and above-FF14. Reminder, we are progressing towards the end of unit 5 and the end of the third nine weeks - The Mini Post Test and Unit Test are planned to be completed-on Thursday and Friday.(All outstanding assignments are due on Friday).
