Today, students participated in a variety of activities to practice calculating unit rates! Some students calculated the unit rates for a lot of fun world records, and others worked through a McDonald's activity on unit rates! Check out the links and videos below for extra practice!

Today, students learned about rates and unit rates. We watched "Ratey the Math Cat," and students discussed their observations from the video. We also solved for missing values in ratio tables and graphed the data on MSG pages 70-71. Students learned to calculate unit rates by simplifying ratios and dividing.

Today, students learned about ratios. A ratio is a comparison of two numbers. We conducted surveys and calculated ratios of real student data, and we also worked through the examples on MSG page 66. Students also watched the awesome "Bad Date" video (check it out below!), and observed several different examples of ratios.
Today, students set up Unit 2 in their Math Survival Guides (MSGs). Students are expected to bring their MSGs to class EVERY day, as we work through them frequently!

Today, students received their Unit 1 Tests. We took the day to remediate and extend our learning on the topics from Unit 1. Students were divided into groups and given differentiated assignments.
