Today we reviewed percents and worked on problem solving with percents. There will be a quiz tomorrow on Ratio Tables and Percent Problems. I forgot to tell the students that they had HW because we got very busy at the end of class, so any student who completes his/her homework and turns it in tomorrow will get 5 pts added to the quiz grade tomorrow. Choose one side to get credit. You do not have to do both sides.
Today we worked with percents. We learned many different ways to find a percent if given a whole, a whole if given a percent and a part of the whole if given a percent. I will be out tomorrow and return on Thursday. We will have a quiz this Friday.
Today we looked over our quiz from Friday. There were quite a few common errors, so I decided not to count the quiz. Today we used it as a teaching tool so that I could make sure that the students know the material. There will be a very short make up quiz sometime this week as early as tomorrow depending on how the students do in class today.
Today we worked with percents. We found a percent of a number and a number when given the percent. We used tape diagrams, double line graphs, tables and proportions to solve problems. Homework is pages 15a and 17a in the MSG. There will be a short quiz tomorrow to ensure understanding of proportions and percents.
Today we did more work with solving proportions and did some problem solving as well.
Today the students took the Cobb County Touchstone Assessment in the computer lab. There was no homework.
Today we did some additional practice with ratios and unit rates. We then switched our focus to solving proportions. There is a quiz tomorrow on ratios and rates. Homework: Complete the front side of the Proportions Sheet pg. 43.
Today we worked on finding unit rates at the grocery store. Then we began the homework which asks students to use their problem solving abilities to solve problems involving unit rate. Quiz on Friday.
