Today, students learned to subtract integers! They practiced the concept using models such as number lines and counters. Then, they learned to apply the algorithm (rule) of adding the opposite! Homework: Bothers: Finish "Subtracting Integers" WS (110 on the front and 120 on the back) Leach: Integers sheet do top two sections (bottom section is extra credit) Ledesma: Subtracting Integers WS Schwak: IXL Multiplication & Division N9 & N11

Students continued learning to add and/or subtract integers! We will quiz this concept Thursday or Friday!
Homework: Bothers: Finish the Adding Integers WS Leach: Practice sheet; suggested IXL on adding integers Ledesma: Adding Integers WS Schwak: Addition & Subtraction Integer WS Students continued adding integers today! They learned to use a number line, counters, and an algorithm (rule) to add positive and negative numbers. Check out the games and videos linked below for extra practice! Schwak's classes have moved to subtracting integers check out links below for that, as well! Orbit Integers Walk the Plank Integer Game
Now that students have completed the Math 6 curriculum and testing is over, we are previewing the first unit of 7th grade math! The first unit includes adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. We began with adding integers today. Students engaged in an "Integer Football" game (play below), and this gave them a good conceptual understanding of the concept. Then, they worked together on their own "Integer Football" activity. They then applied the concept to adding on a number line. We will quiz this concept on Friday (Thursday for Bothers' classes). Click here to play Integer Football Online! :) Homework: Bothers: 12problem Adding Integers on a Number Line WS (see below) Leach: Adding Integers Practice WS Ledesma: Both sides Adding Integers on a Number Line WS (see below) Schwak:Finish coordinate plane mystery picture
Today, students continued to review Math 6 standards for mastery. Mrs. Bothers' and Mrs. Ledesma's classes are taking a endofcourse assessment to determine which standards they have mastered and which may need further review. This will count as a test grade! Mrs. Leach's classes are reviewing with "Faceing Math." Mrs. Schwak's classes are previewing 7th grade standards, and have begun learning to add integers (the rest of the classes will begin that next week). Homework:
Bothers: No HW Leach: "Faceing Math" due Friday (picture optional); Equations Practice sheet due Friday Ledesma: Choose 1 IXL, USA Test Prep, or Prodigy Schwak: Adding Integers handout Today, students took the 2nd Part of the Math Milestones! There is no homework tonight.
For the remainder of the year, students will preview the first unit of 7th grade math. They will learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers, as well as solve twostep equations. Today was the day we've been waiting for Math Milestones Monday! ;) Students took Part 1 of the Math Milestones, and they will complete Part 2 tomorrow. In class, we continued to review and answer questions related to the Milestones. Homework is to STUDY for Part 2. You can use USA Test Prep, IXL, your practice Milestones assessments, or your MSG's!
Students continued reviewing for the Milestones today! Students read and evaluated several constructed response items, learning what makes a 1, 2, 3, or 4 grade. They did a great job of writing thorough responses with strong math vocab! Homework: Bothers: GA Milestones Review (see link and video tutorials below) Leach: Work on IXL & Study MSGs! Ledesma: Unit 7 Math Whiz (see posts from earlier in the week to DL) Schwak: Practice IXL! Anyone who wants extra practice can download the review below, and follow along with the review videos for help! Don't forget about USA Test Prep and IXL!
Students began day 1 of the Milestones today, taking ELA Part 1. In math class, we continued reviewing for the Math Milestones, which begin Monday!
